This Privacy Policy is intended to inform you of BIOFEET®’s policies and practices regarding your Personal Data and how it is processed.
This Policy outlines how Users’ Personal Data is collected, used, and disclosed by BIOFEET®.
BIOFEET® is committed to maintaining the confidentiality of the Consumer’s personal data, allowing the User to access, rectify, update, and cancel their Personal Data, as well as make certain choices about how their Personal Data is processed.
BIOFEET® is obliged to comply with the applicable legislation in this matter, namely the rules contained in the
General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), approved by Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of April 27, 2016.
Note that providing your personal data within the scope of using the Site implies knowledge and acceptance of the conditions contained in this Policy, supplemented by the Terms and Conditions of use and our Cookies Policy.
We ask that you read this Privacy Policy carefully to understand BioFeet®’s policies and practices regarding your Personal Data and how it is processed.

BIOFEET® may update this Policy, so periodic consultation is advised.
1. FRAMEWORK
According to the GDPR, “Personal Data” means any “information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (‘data subject’); an identifiable natural person is one who can be identified, directly or indirectly, in particular by reference to an identifier such as a name, an identification number, location data, an online identifier or to one or more factors specific to the physical, physiological, genetic, mental, economic, cultural or social identity of that natural person;”.
2. SOURCES OF PERSONAL DATA
This Policy applies to all Personal Data that BIOFEET® collects from and about the User through the following sources:
– BIOFEET® Websites – User-directed websites operated by BIOFEET®, including sites that BIOFEET® operates under its own domains/URLs and mini-sites used on social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, X, and YouTube;
– BIOFEET® Mobile Sites/Apps – User-directed mobile sites or applications operated by or for BioFeet®, such as smartphone applications;
– Email, text messages (SMS), and other electronic messages – Electronic communications between the User and BIOFEET®;
– Offline registration forms – Printed records and similar forms that BIOFEET® collects through, for example, postal mail, in-store demonstrations, contests, and other promotions or events;
– Advertising interactions – Interactions with BIOFEET® advertisements (for example, if the User interacts with one of BIOFEET®’s advertisements on third-party sites, we may receive information about that interaction);
– Data campaigns created by BIOFEET® – In the course of User interactions with BIOFEET®, we may create Personal Data about the User (for example, records of purchases made on our site). Data from other sources – Third-party social networks (e.g., Facebook, Google) or market research (always with authorization, and if the data has not been provided anonymously).
3. PROCESSORS
Co-responsibility for the processing of Users’ personal data begins from the moment the buyer proceeds to pay for the selected product.
Whenever justified, BioFeet® may use Processors, understood as natural or legal persons who process personal data on its behalf, a fact for which Site users hereby give their express consent.
The use of Processors may occur for the purposes of: managing the commercial relationship between Buyers and Sellers. It may also be necessary for the provision of sales and supply services, payment processing and invoicing, ensuring the execution of due diligence and back-office operations, namely regarding the technical and operational support and assistance necessary for the Site’s operation, as well as all others that prove to be necessary and/or convenient.
The Processors that BioFeet® may use will implement all technical and legal measures appropriate for the protection of the personal data transmitted to them, in order to ensure the defense of the rights and interests of the respective subjects.
4. CHARACTERIZATION OF PERSONAL DATA COLLECTION AND PROCESSING
Depending on how the User interacts with BioFeet® (online, offline, telephone, etc.), BIOFEET® collects various types of information, as follows:
– Personal contact data
Includes any information provided by the User that allows BioFeet® to contact them, such as name, postal address, email address, social media details, or telephone number;
– Account access information
Any information necessary to access the User’s account profile. This may include the login ID/email address, username, password in unrecoverable form, and/or the User’s security question and answer.
– Demographic information and interests
Any information describing the User’s demographic and behavioral characteristics. Such as date of birth, age or age range, gender, geographic location (e.g., zip code), products of interest, activities/hobbies, interests, and household and lifestyle information of the User.
– Technical information about the computer / mobile device
Any information about the computer system or other technological devices the User uses to access BioFeet®’s Website or applications, such as the Internet Protocol (IP) address used to connect the User’s computer or device to the Internet, operating system type, and web browser type and version. If the User accesses a BIOFEET® site or application through a mobile device, such as a smartphone, the information collected will also include, where permitted, the unique device ID, advertising identification, geographic location, and other similar mobile device data.
– Information on the use of Websites/communications
When the User browses through BIOFEET®’s Websites and newsletters, interacting with them, BIOFEET® uses automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about the User’s actions. This includes information such as the links the User clicks, the pages or content viewed, and for how long. Similar information and statistics about interactions are also collected, such as page response times, download errors, and duration of visits to certain pages. This information is captured using automated technologies such as cookies (browser cookies, flash cookies) and web beacons; information is also collected through the use of third-party tracking. The User may object to the use of such technologies. For more details, see Section 4.
– Market research and User feedback
Includes information that the User voluntarily shares with BIOFEET® about their experience using the products and services it offers.
– User-generated content
Refers to any content the User creates and then shares with BIOFEET® on third-party social networks or sends to one of BIOFEET®’s websites or applications, including the use of third-party social network applications such as Facebook, among others. Examples may include photographs, videos, personal stories, among others. When permitted, BIOFEET® may collect and publish User-generated content related to a variety of activities, including contests and other promotions, website attributes, User engagement, and third-party social networks.
– Third-party social network information
– Refers to any information the User shares publicly on a third-party social network or information that is part of their profile on a third-party social network (such as Facebook) and that the User allows the third-party social network to share with BIOFEET®. Examples include the User’s basic account information (e.g., name, email address, gender, date of birth, current city, profile picture, user ID, friend list, etc.) and any other additional information or activities the User allows the third-party social network to share. BIOFEET® receives the User’s profile information from the third-party social network (or parts of it) whenever they download or interact with a BIOFEET® application on a third-party social network, such as Facebook, or whenever they interact with BIOFEET® through a third-party social network. For more information on how the User’s information on a third-party social network is obtained by BIOFEET® or to disable the sharing of such social network information, visit the third-party social network’s site.
– Payment and financial information
– Any information the User uses to make a purchase or an order, such as debit or credit card details (cardholder name, card number, expiration date, etc.) or other forms of payment (if available). BIOFEET® or its payment processing service providers will handle payment and financial information in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and security standards.
5. ENTITIES RESPONSIBLE FOR PERSONAL DATA PROCESSING
Responsibility for the processing of personal data transmitted within the scope of using the Site, regardless of its nature or ownership, will lie with BIOFEET® regarding the following personal data of Buyers:
First and last name – for the purpose of identifying Buyers;
Address and zip code – for the purpose of shipping products purchased by Buyers;
Email address – for contact purposes;
Telephone and/or mobile number – for contact purposes (should it be necessary and requested);
Tax Identification Number (NIF) – for tax purposes and commercial transaction operations, invoicing, and payment.
6. COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA
Access to and mere use of the Site by Users does not in itself imply the collection or processing of any personal data. However, whenever the User creates an account on the Site, data will be collected, varying according to the purpose for which it is intended. The purposes underlying the collection and processing of data can be consulted in point 4 of this Policy.
7. TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA
In certain situations, the personal data transmitted by Site Users may be subject to transfer to other entities that provide services to BIOFEET®.
8. RIGHTS OF PERSONAL DATA SUBJECTS
Users of the Site are guaranteed the right of access, rectification, withdrawal of consent, opposition to processing for the purposes defined above, erasure, limitation, and portability of the personal data they have transmitted.
The aforementioned user rights may be exercised at any time, simply by the interested parties sending such requests in writing to the representative of the Personal Data Controller via email to geral@biofeet.pt, attaching proof of identification.
If the request is sent by a person other than the User, without providing proof that the request was legitimately made on their behalf, it will be rejected.
Without prejudice to the above, Site users who have transmitted their personal data may also submit, whenever they deem it relevant, a complaint to the National Supervisory Authority (National Data Protection Commission – CNPD), whose contacts can be found at www.cnpd.pt.
Please be aware that, in certain circumstances, BIOFEET® will not be able to delete the Consumer’s Personal Data without also deleting their user account. BIOFEET® may be required to retain some of the Consumer’s Personal Data after they have requested deletion in order to satisfy its contractual or legal obligations. BIOFEET® may also be authorized by applicable laws to retain some of the Consumer’s Personal Data to satisfy its business needs.
9. PERSONAL DATA RETENTION PERIOD
BIOFEET® will take reasonable steps to ensure that Personal Data is only processed for the time necessary to satisfy the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy.
Thus, the personal data collected and processed by BIOFEET® will be kept for the entire period during which the Users’ registration on the Site remains active.
When the user’s registration on the Site is terminated, the personal data transmitted to BIOFEET® will be kept for up to 1 (one) year from that date, unless another retention period results from applicable law.
However, and as previously mentioned, the Site User may, at any time, request BIOFEET® to delete the personal data they have transmitted.
10. SECURITY MEASURES
In order to ensure data storage and protection, BIOFEET® adopts the following security measures:
– Encryption of all personal data transmitted to it;
– Mandatory use of a personal password for each User;
– Increased care regarding data related to Users’ debit or credit cards. This type of data will not be stored, thus ensuring that third parties cannot access or use it;
– Constant verification and updating of computer servers to reduce any chance of attack or vulnerability.
NOTE: Measures the Consumer should adopt:
It is important that the Consumer also plays an active role in keeping their Personal Data safe and protected. When signing up for an online account, the consumer should choose a password of relative complexity so that others cannot guess it. You should never reveal your password to third parties. The Consumer is responsible for any use of their account and for keeping that password confidential. If the Consumer uses a shared or public computer, they should never select the option to remember their login details, email, or password.
You should also ensure that you log out whenever you leave the computer in question. The Consumer should make use of any privacy settings or controls that BIOFEET® provides on its website or applications.
11. COOKIES POLICY
Upon accessing the Site, small files called cookies or connection tokens may be installed on the user’s computer or mobile device. The use of cookies is a standard practice on most websites. To provide its Users with a better browsing experience and update the Site with relevant functions, BIOFEET® uses cookies.
What are cookies?
The construction of modern websites depends on the implementation of a set of minimum functions that allow meeting Users’ browsing expectations.
Among others, it is expected that for a certain period of time, websites maintain Users’ actions and preferences, namely their username, the language in which they wish to browse the Site, or other relevant settings related to the website interface. Cookies are small information files that are stored on the device you use to access the internet through your browser and allow the implementation of the mentioned functionalities.
What types of cookies exist?
There are several types of cookies.
Considering the lifespan of cookies, they can be:
1. Session cookies – these are temporary cookies, deleted from the cookie file when the browser or application used to access the website is closed. Through this type of cookies, it is possible to analyze web traffic patterns, allowing us to identify problems and provide a better browsing experience.
2. Persistent cookies – these differ from session cookies as they are not deleted when the browser or application is closed, remaining stored on the User’s devices.
They are used whenever a new visit to the Site is made, allowing us, among other functions, to personalize the browsing experience according to the User’s interests and provide a more individualized service.
Considering, in turn, the domain to which they belong, cookies can be:
1. First-party cookies – these are cookies sent to the User’s device through equipment or domains managed by BIOFEET® and from which the service requested by the User is provided.
2. Third-party cookies – these are cookies sent to the User’s device from equipment or a domain managed by a third-party entity over which BIOFEET® has no control. In these cases, it is this third-party entity that processes the data collected through the cookies.
How to block/disable cookies?
All browsers allow the respective User to accept, refuse, or delete cookies, namely by selecting the appropriate settings in the respective browser.
Please note, however, that disabling cookies may partially or totally affect your browsing experience on the Site.

12. CHANGES TO THE PRIVACY POLICY
BIOFEET® reserves the right to make any necessary changes to this Policy. Whenever this happens, they will be published on the Site.
It is advised that you regularly check these Policies to consult any updates or changes to BIOFEET®’s policy.
